Pats meet Sox

Patriots coach Bill Belichick and vice president of player personnel Scott Pioli have been in Florida the last few days on their annual scouting trip. The two are expected to take a short break Sunday when they visit the Red Sox at spring training.

Belichick has talked in the past about his friendship with Red Sox manager Terry Francona, and this short piece on MLB.com traces back to a 2004 meeting between the two.

Belichick also spoke with the University of Florida men's basketball team this week prior to the SEC Tournament.

WEEKEND PLAN: Things appear to be quiet on the Patriots' front, although the team is still in the mix for free-agent WR Donte' Stallworth. We'll be monitoring things here and there, but the plan will be to check back in on Monday.
