Washington in focus

Some quick hits on receiver Kelley Washington, who agreed to a five-year deal with the Patriots today:

  • Height: 6-3

  • Weight: 218

  • Turns 28 in August

  • Was teammates with Donte' Stallworth at the University of Tennessee

  • Entered the NFL in 2003 as a third-round draft choice, the first selection in that round (65th overall)

  • Played his first four seasons with the Bengals, his most productive season coming in 2004 with 31 catches

  • After playing in all 16 games in each of his first two seasons, appeared in just 12 games over the last two years, with a hamstring injury limiting him in 2006

  • Was effective in the red zone early in his career, with seven touchdowns over his first two seasons

    RECEIVER RE-SET
The Patriots now have the following receivers on the roster:

    Donte' Stallworth
    Wes Welker
    Reche Caldwell
    Jabar Gaffney
    Kelley Washington
    Chad Jackson
    Bam Childress
    Kelvin Kight
    Jonathan Smith

It is also possible that veteran Troy Brown could be back. Jackson is coming off a torn ACL in the AFC Championship game.
