Kilroy passes away

Francis "Bucko" Kilroy, who was originally hired by the Patriots in 1971 as their player personnel director and spent 64 years working in the NFL, has passed away. He was 86.

Kilroy was responsible for selecting the team's first two Pro Football Hall of Fame inductees, John Hannah (1973) and Mike Haynes (1976). He is credited with building some of the best teams in franchise history.

Kilroy most recently served as a scouting consultant in 2006.
