Brady's take
Comments from Tom Brady from the locker room:
On the performance:
“It was nice for everybody to play, it was nice to see the young guys play. The older guys, the first preseason game, it’s usually not a game where we get a whole lot of repetitions. Still, to get some game action, it’s good for everybody.”
On looking forward to throwing to Randy Moss:
“I’m looking forward to getting everybody back. We had a bunch of guys out. We’ll see what we’re made of when we’re out there and see what we can produce. Hopefully it will turn out better than 0-for-2 drives like we did tonight.”
On the overthrow to Welker:
“I just tried to step up. It was a blitz zone. They had a defensive end and I tried to loft it over his head. It was a little long, a little high for Wes.”
Assessing the overall night:
“It would have been nice to go down and score. It would have been nice to put some points on the board. We had a few opportunities. I think I had a play to Wes that I could have hit that would have got us into field-goal range at least. It’s really a progression. Coach said after the game, it’s one step in a very, long, long season. We have to get back to work on Sunday, and hopefully a lot of people learn from what went on out here tonight. It’s definitely a different speed and there is a different tempo when you go out there. It will be nice to get off to a better start next week. Hopefully we do that against Tennessee.”
