Hobbs on Samuel
FOXBOROUGH -- Cornerback Asante Samuel was not present in the locker room during the media's access period. Fellow cornerback Ellis Hobbs drew a large crowd to discuss Samuel's return.
Some of the Q&A:
Are you happy Asante is here?
"Like I said previously, if he was to come back I would be happy about it. If he wasn't then you know you still got to keep being a professional about it and move on. But I'm happy that's here, that a decision has been made. Let's move on."
Have you spoken to Asante?
"Yeah, I saw him this morning. I said, 'What's up?' to him. Nothing different man. We're not going to throw a parade or anything like that. It's business. The business side is over with obviously. Now it's time to get down to the real business on the field and that's trying to win ball games."
What does he bring?
"I think everybody has their own playing style that they bring. I think he brings maturity, an understanding of what we do and how we do it in our system. As far as his own way of things, I don't like to critique anyone or anything like that but I do think he brings a maturity to the defense."
Are you ready for his return?
"I think we're ready for anything Bill throws at us. However he adjusts the rotation or however he feels he needs to put him in. Our main goal has been to practice without Asante. That's what we've been doing. It's really all about him. How well does he adapt to us and get back in the swing of things because we're still moving."
