Belichick on WEEI

Patriots coach Bill Belichick made his regularly scheduled appearance on sports radio WEEI today as part of "Patriots Monday" programming. He was a guest on "The Big Show" with host Glenn Ordway and guests Steve DeOssie and Fred Smerlas.

Some of the Q&A from the interview:

Before we get to the game and everything else, have the Patriots made, or will you make any comment concerning the story with the NFL security now confiscating a video camera and tape. Boomer Esiason was on with us the last hour, and he said there were comments made from the Jets internally that claim they now have the Patriots red-handed, that the Patriots were indeed stealing signals from the defensive coaches.
"I don't have any comments on league matters."

How many guys are involved with putting signals in?
"There are a lot of different ways to do it. It's something that's a league thing."

Did it surprise you when you heard from the league today that they were confiscating this camera?
"I heard about it yesterday at the game. Honestly, I was concentrating on the game."

Did it surprise you? This is unusual isn't it? Has this happened before, where someone has confiscated a camera that a member of your staff has had?
"It's a league thing. Whatever the deal is, which I don't even know the details of it, a lot of it, we'll comply [with the league]."

Have you run into any other teams that you've played against that have tried to use some sort of technological edge -- whether it's radio, or video, or anything of that sort?
"I don't know. When you're down on the field playing and coaching, you're not really aware of what else is going on. I'm just trying to coach the team and make good decisions for our team, try to get the team to play better so we can win. That's really what my focus was yesterday."
