Bill's take

By Mike Reiss, Globe Staff

A few comments from coach Bill Belichick after the Patriots' win:

Opening statement
"That was one tough football game. Obviously really happy that we can come out with a win down here in Dallas. Cowboys are a great football team. We talked about them all week. They certainly gave us a lot of problems in a lot of different areas. I thought we had a real good team win. I thought our players really hung in there. We had contributions from a lot of guys certainly in all three phases of the game. We had a couple guys banged up in the game and a lot of people stepped in for them and played well. We had contributions from everybody. That's really what you need against a team like the Cowboys. They do a lot of things well. It was a tough game. We're just happy to come out on top."

Can you comment on responding after the Cowboys went ahead in the third quarter?
"I thought we played a good second half of football. Dallas has been a great second half team this year. I thought we were able to come back and throw it in the second half. Sure that was a big drive to bounce back after they took the lead, no doubt. They had a lot of momentum."

On pairing James Sanders and Rodney Harrison as starting safeties, and adding Eugene Wilson to the mix in the nickel.
"I think all those guys played, there were quite a few times where we had all three on the field. Just a little bit of a game-plan thing. I think all three players have played well for us. We tried to used them to match up against Dallas's two-tight [sets] and even some of their three-receiver stuff."

Can you talk about Maroney and the process that went into the decision to hold him out?
"I said it was close. It was a game-time decision. That's what it was."

Couldn't leave in the one from the supposedly trying to act like the 1940's reporter?

What was the deal with that anyway?

I was never a big Randy Moss fan, with all the reports and all. However, I have a new found respect for Randy as when you read his comments, he refers to BB and "Coach Belichick." That is a sign of respect.

Nice job Randy.

Since the faux reporter asked a question of Brady that mentioned the Cowboys doing the jitterbug while the Pats did the Charlestown, I gotta go with the 1920s or maybe 1930s. "C'mon, boys, let's get some pictures."

I guess this is what happens when you start giving press credentials to bloggers.
