Honor for Vrabel
Patriots OLB Mike Vrabel has been named the AFC's Defensive Player of the Week for games played Oct. 28-29.
Vrabel recorded 13 tackles and tied his career-high with three sacks and three forced fumbles in Sunday's 52-7 win over the Redskins. Each of Vrabel’s three sacks forced fumbles, which resulted in 17 points off turnovers. Vrabel also registered his second touchdown reception of the season and 10th of his career, including the postseason. He ranks second in the AFC with 7.5 sacks and leads all NFL linebackers.
Chargers DB Antonio Cromartie (2 INTs, 1 fumble recovery for a TD), Bills LB Angelo Crowell (8 tackles, sack), Bills DE Aaron Schobel (5 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 1 sack) and Steelers safety Anthony Smith (8 tackles) were the other nominees.
Colts RB Joseph Addai (offense) and Chargers P Mike Scifres (special teams) also earned AFC Player of the Week awards.
