FOXBOROUGH -- Comments from linebacker Junior Seau after today's win:
What was that football move you made during your interception?
ďIím definitely going to have to look that up. I donít remember; itís what happens naturally. It was a fun time and obviously Iím going to get reprimanded. I know thatís coming. It was a great win for us.Ē
What were you thinking on that interception return?
ďThat normally doesnít happen. Itís untapped territory for me, to tell you the truth. Iíll handle it better [in the future]. I really will. It is what it is. Iíll take the punishment. Obviously, Iím going to get a lot of kick back from the players, come tomorrow and probably for the whole week. I didnít look too good on that one.Ē
Did you think about making a lateral?
ďYeah, but Coach wouldnít have liked that. I didnít want to have two whammyís in one play. I took the one negative and went from there.Ē
All in all, how big was it for the defense to come up with the big plays?
ďItís the name of the game. Obviously, you go out there and want to perform well and stop the run, and get into the pass situation. But whenever you make big plays, such as we did today, it definitely leads to our favor. Our offense took care of the rest.Ē
Bill Belichick talked about the energy you bring to the game. Where does that come from?
ďI love this game. I just do. I have a lot of passion for this game. Iím very fortunate to be at 38 years old, 18 years in this league, and to be part of something special. Iím humbled by it. It probably didnít show on that interception. But this is definitely a great time. It really is.Ē
Is today what you pictured when you first decided to come to New England?
ďThere is no I, me or you in this locker room. Itís just all about we. And we won. Weíll definitely get to look at each other and weíll have to answer to someone at the end of the season. Until then, itís a we.Ē
While it is only five wins, you guys do realize that this has the chance to be something special?
ďItís always special whenever youíre out there on the football field. Iím not saying weíre looking forward, or looking ahead, into something thatís going to be great. We just know that every day is going to be a challenge. We work one day at a time and that builds our tomorrow. After that, we pray for the rest.Ē
With the celebration on your return, will Bill Belichick have any trouble cooking up some humble pie?
ďOh no. He has a lot of material to pick from. He isnít waiting until Monday. When weíre walking off the field, he came to whisper in my ear. Seriously. Heís amazing. Itís definitely something that weíll always be humble. Itís the culture here. There is a culture here and the Patriotic way is to have faith in the system. Thatís exactly what we do.Ē
