Practice report
FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots are holding their afternoon practice today on the lower field behind Gillette Stadium. The team is in shorts and shells, and the most significant news is that WR Chad Jackson and CB Eddie Jackson, both of whom opened the year on the physically unable to perform list, are present.
That means that the Patriots have officially started the clock on them. The Patriots will now have 21 days to make a decision on whether to place both Jacksons on the active roster, or on season-ending injured reserve. DL Richard Seymour and WR Troy Brown, the other players on PUP, are not present.
Elsewhere at practice, RB Sammy Morris (chest/collarbone), TE Benjamin Watson (left ankle), S Mel Mitchell (groin) and ILB Eric Alexander (knee) are the players not present for the media-access portion of the workout. The media-access portion included stretching and one warmup drill.
OT Wesley Britt is present at practice after missing last week due to personal reasons.
TE Marcellus Rivers, OLB Pierre Woods and practice squad WR C.J. Jones are wearing black jerseys, signifying they are the practice players of the week. The practice player of the week award goes to the players who best help prepare the Patriots in the week leading up to a win. Rivers had been playing the role of Cowboys TE Jason Witten.

(14)Any update on Laurence Maroney?
mike, do you think kevin faulk will get most of the load this week in miami??? btw whats the word on ben watson??.......thanks
yes, what about maroney?
more then anyother player on the pup list is richard seymore,is he really gonna play this year?
Since Maroney was a game-time decision last Sunday and had limited-participation in practice today I would bet he'll be ready at Miami. Whether he stays healthy through the end of the season is definitely another question.
I saw on ESPN that Maroney practiced today ?
Hi Mike, here is a dumb question...has Richard Seymore's injury ever been disclosed?
Keep Maroney out this week. We do not need him but we will need him for the games after that.
Mike, how should we read Seymour's status? What does not practicing mean in terms of an ETA on his return?
Seymour had a knee issue
Mike, Let me roll this one out: With the RB situation being what it is should the team consider giving Corey Dillon a call? I think he would be perfect for the rest of the season. Seems like both Maroney and Morris are going to be in and out with injuries. Dillon would give the team the opportunity to maintain the toughness and productivity that they need at RB to keep the balance on offense. He has to be tired of playing golf and taking the kids to school.
Just give the rock to brady and give maroney and morris some time to just chill out and lick their wounds
Man keep all the good guys out this week, me and my third grade teacher playing catch could beat the Dolphins :)
Seriously, keep those guys fresh even if they're ready for this week, we'll need everyone against the Colts !
im afraid that laurence maroney looks like a player that is either not very dedicated, or had whispers from corey on how to get paid without having to play, the other thought is that he is not a durable player, and the pats might look for a number one devasting back
