A few pre-game thoughts:

If pre-game warmups are any indication, DL Richard Seymour will not start. He took his turn behind DL Jarvis Green at right defensive end.

With S Eugene Wilson out, Rashad Baker and Willie Andrews were the top backups at safety. Rookie Brandon Meriweather took his warmup reps at corner.

With Matt Gutierrez not serving as the third emergency quarterback this week, one line of thinking is that he might have jumped Matt Cassel on the depth chart. But based on warmups, that doesn't appear to be the case as Tom Brady took his turn, followed by Cassel and then Gutierrez.

Mike, do you think that the reason Gutierrez was not on the inactive list had anything to do with the fact that Belichick was expecting him to play special teams?
