By Mike Reiss, Globe Staff
Sunday's game between the Patriots and Cowboys was the most watched national regular-season game on CBS -- based on a measurement of metered markets -- since the network re-acquired the NFL in 1998.
In a press release, CBS noted that the game -- nationally -- earned an average overnight household rating/share of 18.5/35.
The previous high for a national regular-season CBS game was a 16.9/33 on Dec. 6, 1998 when Denver extended its unbeaten record to 13-0, defeating Kansas City by a score 35-31.
The local rating in the Boston TV market was 36.0/60.
