Bill's take
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Comments from Patriots coach Bill Belichck following Sunday night's victory:
“It’s good to come in here and win a division game on the road. I appreciate a lot of our fans coming over here and giving us some support. I thought the team was ready to go early. I thought they played well early in the game, we were able to get on top and get off to a good start offensively. That put our defense in a pretty good spot. The turnover helped there. I thought that was a big thing, just coming in, making some plays, getting on top, playing the game from ahead. We got pretty solid play all the way around, especially kickoff coverage early in the game. It was pretty good. That’s always important against Buffalo, special teams. It’s a good win. It’s good to get out of here and win in the division on the road. We’ll start getting ready for the Eagles this week. We used a lot of different people in the game and that was good – both offensively and defensively we had some different combinations in there and I thought for the most part the whole team stepped up. It was a good performance by the players. They did a good job.”
Belichick also touched on Adalius Thomas’s versatility to play outside linebacker in the game; the exemplary performance of quarterback Tom Brady and receiver Randy Moss; how the team prepared to face Bills running back Marshawn Lynch even though he didn’t play; and the strong protection provided by the offensive line.
