Brady irate
By Mike Reiss, Globe Staff
QB Tom Brady let his emotions overflow while pleading for a penalty call from the officials on third and 20. Brady was throwing to RB Kevin Faulk, who appeared to be being held and interfered with.
No flags were thrown.

(12)Can we please start the fire Josh McDaniels campaign? What timid play calling this game - similar to what we saw from him last year. He seems to get scared in big games. Charlie Weis might be looking for an escape route at this point anyways...
Brady also yelled at one of the refs during his first kneel-down. Any sense what that was about, Mike?
I agree with MH about the offensive play calling, particularly all of those straight ahead running plays on first downs, into a defense stacked in the middle...
It appeared, once again, as if Josh McDaniels was taking the gas pipe against the Colts.
However, all is well that ends well so let's hope that Josh learned something.
I was, also, not thrilled with that long, across the field, pass to Moss, that was intercepted.
I thought that at that time, and from that point on the field, with 1:55 to go in the half, and 2 time outs left, it was a very bad play call. There was more than enough time from where they were on the field, to move the ball with short, and mid range passes, against what is a very weak secondary, for the most part.
The play call was very, very weak, and wrong, IMO, and it turned out to be a 10, or a 14 point, turnaround.
Josh had a rough day at play calling, IMO, for 3 quarters, but as I said, all's well that ends well.
I have to agree with Brady's emotions on that play! What a blatant non-call. In fact, most of the game it seemed the penalties against the Pats were jokes and it almost had the feel that the refs were trying hard to give Indy the game, But the team remained intact and played within the "humble pie" mentality, The end result put a smile on my face as the Pats pulled it out as a team and to see a pouting Peyton, ah priceless! All game long seeing Sanders flex his muscle, Freeny mocking Moss TD when he sacked Brady, and that tubby linebacker who intercepted Brady(will give him it was a hell of a play) but then flexed his muscle. Indy was cocky and got EVERY chance to win but failed to execute for 60 minutes. For the Pats to come out with a hard earned victory will help them with confidence to get to and win the Super Bowl. By the way, Belichick for president!
Hold on, McDaniels play calling in the past has been suspect. But you can't say that now. It was a tough game and you have to call smart plays. He's fine... The Patriots can't win by 24 each game, geez.
The officiating on pass plays was horrific -- always in favor of the Colts. Roger Goodell needs to address this.
MH, Obviously you know nothing about football. How about we fire you as just another idiot fan? Go on and find another team to root for - please.
I thought the play calling wasn't the reason the Colts where in the game at all. The officiating was awfullllll, it was like the Colts had twelve men on the field. I was watching on TV and listing on the radio and Gino and his sidekick where going crazy with the calls and non calls. Everyone in the room (about 15 people) was wondering if the NFL and Goodel in particular didn't want the Pats to loose. This game had Poulian or whatever his name is, writen all over it.
Look its PLAIN & SIMPLE!!!!! The Pats played the WORLD champion Colts, the refs, & a stadium that obviously had fake crowd noise being pumped thru the speakers!!!!!! & STILL WON!!! Everybody in the country has it out for the Pats bcuz they're smashin evrybody, & juss for the record they would've beaten the colts by 14 if it wasn't so blatent that the refs didn't want them to win!!!! Thats all & goodnight!!!
I truly hope the league addresses the atrocious officiating, in particular lopsidedly against the Pats. Okay, you can make ridiculous pass interference calls against the Pats' secondary, but a PI against Moss when all he was doing was turning to see the ball??? After he was grabbed by the cornerback??? And the drive killing no-call when Faulk's shoulderpads unnaturally turned backwards before the ball arrives??? I'm happy with the win, but it was way too frustrating to watch. The Colts went down on my power rankings quite a bit when they've been handed all the advantages (home crowd, biased officiating, atypical Brady interceptions), and they still couldn't win. This clinches it for me, Manning is NOT clutch! Great job to the Pats for not getting rattled (as usual).
Pats made some dumb plays early, but never can I recall such a lopsided game as far as penalties being called and not called. Pass interference calls were atrocious and one sided. Almost makes one wonder about the 'fix being in'.
Pats beat two teams yesterday, the Colts and the officials, who were out to punish the Pats.
I lost $1,500 on that game because the refs made sure the Patriots didn't cover a 6 point spread. I watched this game in complete disbelief that these calls were being made again. This type of officiating has been going on for a couple of years between these two teams and it always favors the Colts. I have seen a dozen phantom pass interference calls made against the Patriots over the last 5 games that have made me not trust the league. It's getting to the point now that I know a flag is coming every time Payton throws it deep. I'm so sick of watching Payton throw his desperation hail mary every time he can't move the ball and get a flag every time. How many points have been scored from the Colts being put in great field position from these bogus calls. The NFL is trying to keep their poster boy(Manning) from getting embarrassed and it's really showing that they don't like the Patriots. I just wanted to thank John Parry, Mike Pereira, and Roger Goodell for making me lose money on a game that should've been 24-10. My message to the NFL is just know that we are watching these games and we see what your agenda is. It's time to quite playing favorites and be fair.
