Practice report

By Mike Reiss, Globe Staff November 16, 07 12:36 PM

FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots held their afternoon practice on the upper fields behind Gillette Stadium and it seemed as if the workout was tailored to take advantage of some extremely windy conditions. At one point, Stephen Gostkowski's kickoff was knocked down considerably by the wind and turned into about a 35-yard kickoff fielded by one of the up-the-field players.

S Eugene Wilson (ankle) and ILB Eric Alexander (knee) were not present for the media-access portion of the workout, which included stretching and some special teams work. S Mel Mitchell (groin) was back on the field.

Players were in sweatpants, light shoulder pads and helmets.
