Baker tests ankle

By Mike Reiss, Globe Staff December 9, 07 01:47 PM

Reserve safety Rashad Baker spent about 10 minutes on the field with head athletic trainer Jim Whalen, testing his injured ankle. That probably means Baker entered the day as a game-time decision.

If Baker is not healthy enough to play today, it would have the most impact on special teams units. Baker is a regular on coverage teams.

In terms of the regular defense, he had been a part of the dime unit (six defensive backs) up until last week, when he was replaced by rookie Brandon Meriweather.
