Dolphins' view

By Mike Reiss, Globe Staff December 22, 2007 08:45 AM

Some links from South Florida on the Dolphins' perspective entering Sunday's game against the Patriots:

  • Despite his injured ankle, RB Jesse Chatman hopes to play against the Patriots, as does DE Jason Taylor, the Miami Herald reports.

  • The South Florida Sun-Sentinel has more on Taylor, who would break the Dolphins' consecutive starts record by suiting up, and playing the first snap Sunday.

  • The big news of the week was the Dolphins hiring Bill Parcells as executive vice president of football operations. One Miami Herald columnist believes it's the right choice, while another Miami Herald columnist points out that the Dolphins haven't learned their lesson with big names.

  • A columnist from the South Florida Sun-Sentinel writes that Bill Parcells has followed a familiar script in his career -- he turns teams around, then he leaves.

  • The Palm Beach Post examines one of the big choices Parcells has to make: Who will be his head coach? Parcells could stick with Cam Cameron, or choose his own man. The Palm Beach Post also notes that sales of grilled blueberry muffins could be rising now that Parcells is in town.
