BOGER GETS THE CALL: Jerome Boger's crew is assigned to referee Sunday's game. This marks the first time this season that the Patriots have a crew that worked one of their games earlier in the year. Boger's crew worked the Oct. 1 win at Cincinnati. The Patriots were called for three penalties (20 yards) in that game, with the Bengals flagged for eight (65 yards).

PATS-JETS PERSONNEL REVISITED: In the season-opening meeting between the Patriots and Jets, the following was New England's offensive participation breakdown:

TE Benjamin Watson -- 58 of 63
TE Kyle Brady -- 52 of 63
WR Randy Moss -- 39 of 63
WR Jabar Gaffney -- 37 of 63
RB Laurence Maroney -- 30 of 63
WR Wes Welker -- 24 of 63
RB Sammy Morris -- 18 of 63
RB/FB Heath Evans -- 13 of 63 (5 as running back; 8 as fullback)
TE Ryan O’Callaghan -- 12 of 63
WR Kelley Washington -- 11 of 63
RB Kevin Faulk -- 10 of 63
WR Donte' Stallworth -- 9 of 63

PATS-JETS POSITIONAL GROUPING BREAKDOWN: In the Patriots' season-opening win over the Jets, the team was in mutiple tight end packages on 51 of 63 snaps. That seems to be a reflection that the team felt it could overpower the Jets:

2 WR/2 TE/1 RB -- 31 snaps
1 WR/3 TE/1 RB -- 12 snaps
1 WR/2 TE/1 FB/1 RB -- 8 snaps
3 WR/1 TE/ 1 RB -- 8 snaps
4 WR/1 RB -- 3 snaps
3 TE/1 FB/1 RB -- 1 snap

PATS ON NBCSPORTS.COM: NBCSports.com writer Tom Curran pens two Patriots-related pieces, the first a Q&A with coach Bill Belichick, and the second quoting Belichick saying the Jets never were granted permission to videotape an additional end-zone angle at Gillette Stadium.

PARKING LOTS OPEN EARLY: For fans attending the game, parking lots at Gillette Stadium will open one hour early, at 8 a.m.
