Ravens reaction
More reaction from the Ravens locker room
CB Chris McAlister
(on the calls at the end of the game)
"It's hard to go out there and play the Patriots and the refs at the same time. It is what it is. They put the crown on top, and they want them to win. They won. It's a lot of things. From the replay, [Jabar Gaffney] didn't even have the ball in his possession. ... Obviously, the refs, they're horrible. That's the bottom line. They made a lot of bad calls, and it is what it is. They'll send in their little report to say that we made a mistake on this one, and this should have been that, and that should have been that, but it's too late. They need to get it right out there on the field."
CB Samari Rolle
(on the fourth-down holding call)
"In a game of this magnitude, you don't make that kind of call. Let the players decide the outcome of the game. You can crown them champions now. I'm not taking anything away from them. They are a great team. They're not asking the refs to help them, but it's just an empty feeling. ... It's a travesty when you go out there and play that hard and the refs decide the outcome of the game."
LB Terrell Suggs
(on the fourth-down penalty calls)
"I think the world, everybody, is kind of cheering for them to go undefeated, break all the records. ... You only get a few times to really get the NFL's posterboy in that type of situation."
Coach Brian Billick
(on why the Ravens called timeout)
"We didn't feel like we were in the right configuration. We kind of knew what they were going to do and felt like we needed a better call, I guess."
DB Jemaine Winborne
(on calls going the Patriots' way)
"They get a lot of calls, I'll say that."

This game reminds me of the Chargers game last year. And with all the expectations of Brady pulling out the last second rallies, please remember that the last plays of the last two playoffs ended with Brady interceptions.
Wow talk about sore losers... What they fail to mention or even realize is that they got every call and non-call go their way for the first 3 quarters. In the last quarter(or the last 8 minutes) the refs were finally calling the game right! Is it really the refs fault that they can't control their tempers and get 35 yards of penalties racked up against them on one play! Their guys were all over our recievers on every single play of the game and they never called it. Instead they call Offensive pass interference on one of our guys! There was one play when one of their guys literally punched randy moss in the face while he tried to go for it and they didn't call anything. So Chris McAlister can whine and complain all they want but the fact of the matter is the refs tried to give them the game and they shot themselves in the foot!
I don't get it. From what I saw, every call at the end of the game was a legit penalty. You could see it in the replays. What are they complaining about?
My personal favorite was the mugging of Asante Samuel on that Hail Mary. What would Baltimore be saying if they won and then saw that on a replay?
I don't understand this either. That holding call on fourth down was pretty blatant, and even if they hadn't called it, Ed Reed hit Watson before the ball even got there, so it should've been pass interference too. Then Reed went offsides for no reason on the PAT, just showing how much of head cases the entire defense is. Did anyone else notice the pass interference that wasn't called on the hail mary when asante was tackled when going up for the ball? I think the refs missed many calls in this game, most of them in Baltimores favor, and in the end, they made the obvious call when they really had to.
Let the players decide the outcome of the game = let us cheat; we need to to win against a better team. Let us commit pass interference all night don't flag us.
Chris McAlister should get fined for those comments. Compare the way they handle themselves and people say our team is classless. yeah right.
They could have had a shot to win but they are an unstable defense. Ray Lewis and Bart Scott what are you thinking? Get your head out of your... and into the game.
I live in Baltimore and grew up here. As a disenchanted former Ravens fan this is precisely the attitude that I'm so sick of. It is throughout the team and throughout the city. A.D. was right about his former team. You should listen to the Baltimore radio talk shows this morning. They are completely echoing the feelings of these players and talking about how the Ravens played their hearts out...ignoring the poor sportsmanship of the players. Everybody here is saying that the Ravens were robbed. I feel totally embarrased to be in a city represented by the Baltimore Ravens ...not just from last night's performance but by their entire self-centered, thug-like attitude. By contrast, I have never seen a more self-sacrificing, team-oriented organization than the New England Patriots. They are like a breath of fresh air in NFL. Proud to wear my Brady #12 Jersey in B'more!!!
BDC,
The Pats won both the Chargers game and the Ravens game. So that's all that matters. TB won the Ravens game on a TD pass to JG. And TB is 12-2 in the playoffs, has won 3 Super Bowls, and has 2 Super Bowl MVP's. So right now only Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw have more Super Bowl rings than TB with 4. And Brady is only 30 and he's closing very fast! So I don't know what your talking about?!
The best thing about Tom Brady is after he breaks a ton of records and is a first ballot HoF he is going to also make a hell of a lot better sports broad caster than all the other ex players doing it...
