Welcome to Gillette
FOXBOROUGH -- Welcome to Gillette Stadium, where the Patriots host the Steelers today (4:15 p.m.).
The current temperature is 32 degrees and skies over the stadium are cloudy. There appears to be little, if any, wind to contend with today. One aspect that will be important to watch is the chance of wintry conditions once the game starts, so starting quickly might take on added importance.
As has been the case in recent weeks, there is a large national media contingent in attendance today. Among those with reporters include USA Today; the New York Times; New York Post; New York Daily News; Dallas Morning News; Los Angeles Times; Chicago Tribune; Chicago Sun-Times; Washington Post; Washington Times; Sporting News; Toronto Sun; ESPN.com; SI.com; Yahoo! Sports; CBSSportsline.com and NBCSports.com.
The Jaguars, Jets and Rams have advance scouts in the press box. The Steelers host the Jaguars next Sunday and then visit the Rams in a Thursday game, while the Patriots host the Jets next Sunday.
Rene Rancourt, a regular at Boston Bruins hockey games, will sing today's national anthem.
Terry McAulay's crew has been assigned to work the game.
We'll plan on passing along updates along the way.

Any word on whether either of the Browns will be activated today?
oh joy - i cannot wait until Rene breaks into "OH - CANADUH"
