Belichick on Moss

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff January 16, 2008 04:20 PM

Reached after his team's practice today at Gillette Stadium, Patriots coach Bill Belichick addressed allegations against receiver Randy Moss.

"I spoke with and I support Randy 100 percent," Belichick said.

Belichick did not comment further regarding the situation.

  1. Once again BB has made the best of a bad situation. Think Moss won't play even harder for his coach now? Wait until Brady backs him, we could be looking at one of Randy's signature games this weekend.

  1. Didn't it seem that Randy was preoccupied while playing against the Jags? It's not that he only got one pass, but that he was not his usual self in creating separation.

Now we know where his mind was.

  1. what a ignorant comment, joe. moss was bracketed all game with 2 and sometimes 3 men. he was also a factor in the running game. it was actually one of his best games of the year if you know something about how the game is played 11-on-11.

o/u on moss td catches this sunday is 3.5

  1. Good Call Rich Casey,

You are right on. Belichik has made the best of this situation possible. Randy will be ready to go this weekend. He torched the Chargers the first time around and will do it again.

And I can not wait until Brady backs him as well as great, solid teammates do.

I bet you that come game time this will not even be an issue for the Patriots organization. The only place this garbage, unproven story will garner attention is where it belongs ... in the media and Randy will play his butt off on Sunday for his teammates.

WAR New England beating the Chargers and heading to land of the rising sun.

  1. In reading the actual restraining order, it is immediately apparent that the petitioner made a blatantly false statement on page 1(one).

When asked for date of birth, the individual responded with 10/22/08.

    Is nobody paying any attention?

  1. Also what is really odd is that the claimant is said to have an intimate relationship for 11 years or so. Even Randy points that out. but.... the claimant doesn't know his address, or the license plate of the car.

Something does not make sense. .

    Good catch on the DOB.

    Randy is beind setup.

  1. Funny how people try so hard to put this team down and it ALWAYS backfires. Most certainly Moss will be at his best and this team will perform to it's abilities. Moss certainly has been a great representative of this team this year and I'm glad he's here. Thanks, unnamed woman.

  1. Good on Coach Belichick. The media and the high-horsers in this world expect people to join in the public lynching when an associate/teammate/etc. does something wrong or is accused of doing something wrong. If you don't, you're as guilty as the accused in their eyes and they'll use their various bully pulpits to tar and feather you, too. What Belichick and I think most normal people understand is that when a colleague, friend, or loved one gets into these situations, you need to back them publically and privately. And if they turn out to be guilty? That doesn't end your obligation. They'll need your support to rehabilitate their spirit, their career, their lives. Most public figures don't seem to get this, but Belichick does.

  1. I thought Bob's comment was a joke....At this point nobody knows anything except we don't need this junk on the eve of the 2 biggest games in franchise history! At the very least even if he did nothing he is hanging out with someone of questionable judgement and character.

  1. Hope that it will not become a significant distraction for Moss or our team. They need to stay focused on the game 100%.

  1. Hey "Who cares" - Read my comment. I was saying that no matter what it is, it is a problem. If he did it then he did it. If he didn't do it he is still hanging out with some wacko broad who is a psyco clueless shakedown artist. When you are a target you better be careful who you hang out with.

    And I am a Judge.

  1. Hey dog, sometimes bad things do happen to good people. Not every bad thing that happens to a person is well deserved.
Are you sure that absolutely no one you know will turn on you for 6 figures worth of cash? And if one of them does, does it mean it's your fault?
