'Dress warm'

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff January 16, 2008 11:12 AM

FOXBOROUGH -- Patriots coach Bill Belichick held his Wednesday press conference (10:50 a.m.) and one of the highlights was when he was asked about the expected chilly temperatures for Sunday's AFC Championship game.

Would the Patriots' game-plan be altered to account for the expected cold weather?

"I think we'll take it a look at it, as we usually do, as it gets closer to game time and see what's it like, then decide whether it does or doesn't," Belichick answered. "For right now, the game-plan would be, based on the forecast, dress warm."

That drew laughter in the media workroom.

  1. He said too much. The national reporters in town for the AFC championship are going to bombard the Pats' locker room with questions about this since there are very few other story angles to pursue. This will most certainly turn into a distraction, but ultimately one that the pats will have no problem dealing with thanks BB's demand for the team's absolute focus during every practice and every meeting. Pats will win by 2 scores, but it's a safe bet that Bill will impose a gag order on Randy Moss and we won't see him on camera behind a microphone for the rest of the season.
