Wrapping up today's coverage at Gillette Stadium:
1) Harrison: Pats need no motivation. Safety Rodney Harrison, who traditionally has fed off bulletin-board material from opponents, downplayed comments made by Jaguars defensive end Paul Spicer in September regarding the Patriots and Spygate. “Let me tell you something,” Harrison said with an edge. “If you need something like that to get you pumped up for a playoff game, you’re crazy. The playoffs and the intensity of this game, it brings enough excitement and butterflies and all that other stuff. It just comes down to who is more physical, who wants it more, who makes more plays. It has nothing to do with what happened four, five months ago.”
2) Seymour: We’re physical too. The Jaguars’ physical approach has been noted, but defensive lineman Richard Seymour feels the Patriots also play physical. “I think we bring that same type of mentality to the game,” Seymour told a large group of reporters. “I don’t think anyone is going to come in here and push us around.”
3) Two votes for Vrabel. Colts safety Bob Sanders was named the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year today. Patriots outside linebacker Mike Vrabel received two votes for the award. Sanders had received 31 of 50 votes. Chargers cornerback Antonio Cromarie (3), Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware (2), Buccaneers cornerback Ronde Barber (1), Steelers linebacker James Harrison (1), 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis (1) and Texans defensive end Mario Williams (1) were others garnering votes.
Vrabel deserved those votes. Nice to see he is recognized, and appreciated, around the league.
1.) what did spicer say?
2.) good point, the pats are big and physical too. that aspect of this team has been overlooked in all the brady to moss headlines.
3.) good for vrabel. jared allen of the chiefs shouldve gotten some votes too. not a fan of the guy b/c of DUI history, but he was an absolute beast this year.
Need more motivation?

Hey, just an FYI for anyone interested in getting seats to this weekend’s New England Patriots-Jacksonville Jaguars AFC Divisional Championship playoffs.
A very generous friend of the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston has given them a pair of 50-yard-line tickets to be auctioned off to support their diabetes research programs. The tickets, which are in the front row of Section 332, can be had by bidding on www.joslin.org until Friday at noon. The minimum bid is $1,000.
