Mitchell to IR
The Patriots placed safety Mel Mitchell on injured reserve today, ending his season. Mitchell was sidelined with a biceps injury in the AFC Divisional round playoff game against the Jaguars.
Mitchell, who is an unrestricted free agent after the season, was a special teams standout for the team. His role was filled by safety Ray Ventrone in the AFC Championship against the Chargers.
The Patriots now have an open spot on their 53-man roster.

Mike, any insight into who might be added to the roster?
SUPERBOWL TRAVELER BEWARE AZ DUI LAWS !!!!
I am a former New England Resident who resides in Arizona. Travelers beware DUI is big in Arizona. They are banking on lots of Revenue from convicted tourists during the Superbowl. We have several new Dui command centers and every police force has a DUI task force. Arizona is a zero tolerance state which means you can get a Dui for one drink if the Police feel you are impaired. Please check out and be careful. This has been a big news story here. Please pass along to all visiting during the superbowl. Arizona DUI Convictions:
Arizona Impaired in Slightest Degree: Prohibits driving or to be in actual physical control of a vehicle even with the slightest impairment. No BAC necessary.
Arizona BAC Per Se: 0.08
Arizona Extreme BAC: 0.15
Arizona BAC Zero Tolerance: 0.01
Arizona Implied Consent Law/Test Refusal Consequences: License suspension.

I miss Don Davis, is he still involved with the Pats?
Rich...Don Davis is the assistant strength and conditioning coach this season after he retired...
Rich,
According to Wikipedia, Don Davis is currently an assistant strength and conditioning coach with the Pats.
I am NOT making any kind of accusation, just asking a question. In all the flap with Ted Johnson awhile back, it was suggested that his biceps tears might have been due to steroid use-that it's a common injury among steroid users. I think I read that Mitchell tore his other bicep last year. What else can cause the injury? Faulty technique? Conditioning? Bad luck? It doesn't seem like an injury you hear about very often.
I would suggest that trying to haul down a 200 lbs missle moving at warp speed can tear a bicept.
Well, yeah, PC, but they all do that day in and day out, and fact remains it is not an injury you commonly hear about.
