Practice report -- no Brady
FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots are holding their afternoon practice inside the Dana-Farber Field House today. The workout is being held in full pads.
QB Tom Brady, S Rodney Harrison and S Mel Mitchell were the lone players not present for the media-access portion of the workout, which included stretching and one set of positional drills.
The absence of Brady, who was spotted Monday with a protective brace over his right foot, is naturally the biggest news. Although his high ankle sprain is considered minor, it was enough to at least keep him away for the early parts of practice.
That left Matt Cassel and Matt Gutierrez as the lone quarterbacks on the field for the media-access portion of practice.
Harrison has been battling a thigh injury in recent weeks, while Mitchell missed last week's game due to his biceps.
Five players wore black jerseys as the practice players of the week for their efforts leading into the Chargers' game -- Gutierrez, Cassel, S Willie Andrews, S Ray Ventrone and OL Wesley Britt.

dont see this as a huge deal little under 2 weeks till the game brady will play let him rest the ankle and make sure he is 100 percent its not like he needs a ton of reps to get ready anyways.
Maybe this will be like Moss's situation in training camp...why risk aggravating an injury with such an important player.
Both Brady and Harrison will be ready. Once again if the injury was serious enough he wouldn't have been in NY earlier this week.
Tom brady will play
He has not come out of Gisele's apartment and I can't blame him. Hopefully he can make it out for 5 hours on February 3. I would then go into hibernation with her shortly after the game as well!
Being from the Boston area but now living in NY: These wacky New Yorkers think they have a chance to win this thing - it's too funny!! If the spread keeps dropping they MIGHT cover, but win...? eh, no sorry!
Brady will play, he's no LT. lol.
But I think the ankle will affect him, only 30 of 36 for 350+ yards and 4TDs.
He can't practice, but he can romp around NYC nightclubs for 3 days?
Bottomline: If it's serious enough to warrant missing a practice before a Super Bowl, he should have been getting treatment not soaking in the NYC nightlife!
