Record media numbers

One nugget picked up today at Super Bowl media headquarters:

The NFL has issued 4,786 media credentials to those who will report on Super Bowl XLII, which marks the largest media contingent in the history of the Super Bowl.

The previous record was 4,516, set last year in South Florida.

  1. lemme see, two Northeast teams playing the Superbowl in southwest US in Februrary....I wonder how many convinced their bosses they had a new story angle.....
