Pats statement on Andrews

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff February 5, 2008 03:10 PM

The Patriots released the following statement on DB Willie Andrews, who was charged with marijuana possession in Lowell.

"The conduct of our players is very important to the New England Patriots. We are aware of the report regarding Willie Andrews, but will not comment publicly on pending legal matters. As is our policy, team discipline will be handled internally."

  1. Who cares. It is stupid that the league bans marijuana, and even stupider that the country does.

  1. Agreed ibmcginty BUT as the rules currently stand there is no excuse. Do what you want as a pro player but know you are being watched and if you get caught be prepared to pay for it.
