  1. Heartbroken! Welker would have been MVP. Now we will have the insufferable '72 Dolphins lording it over everyone. Heartbroken!

  1. Without a doubt this is the biggest choke in the history of the NFL, bigger than the Steelers going 15-1 and losing in the AFC Championship game, bigger than any AFC Championship game loss by Peyton Manning, bigger than........well you get the idea.

For the Patriots and their fans (of which I'm not one), this has to make their entire season a frustrating waste of time.

I bet they'd trade the squeaker in Baltimore (which they should have lost, and would have, if not for an ill-timed timeout by a defensive coordinator) for this one.

  1. Why didn't the patriots take more time off the clock on their last score. The play calling and managing of the game was poor.

  1. That was some poor clock running by who ever controls the clock... that play that Eli fumbled on the clock never ran and two other snaps on the giants drive the clock didnt run for a few seconds..... I would like to go back and view it and see how many seconds were left there for the Giants I wonder if it approaches the 35 seconds remaining when they scored the TD.

  1. This is certainly a tough loss to take. New England couldn't put the final feather in their cap, and the New York Football Giants are the kings of the NFL hill. I'm still trying to process this loss, and I look forward to the newspaper's take tomorrow morning. Normally I'm channel surfing between multiple post-game shows, but not tonight. I can't take it! :-)

  1. The Pat's had their chances..........if #31 had made that interception late in the fourth the game is over. Actually he had two chances late and his pass coverage was awful. you think the Giants knew something about that guy? The Giants seemed hungrier, too.

  1. Now New England sports fans have a taste of what it's like to be the favorite, not win, and have everyone celebrate about it.

  1. We're all waiting for Ellis "Toast" Hobbs' "Lights Out" celebration following his stellar 4th Quarter performance in Super Bowl XLII... they ain't the 1972 Dolphins.

  1. on behalf of the Raiders Nation..."YOU GOT TUCKED!" by a half-assed Giants team. it all boils down to this was one of the worst years for tallent in the NFL ever. no one in your division had a winnig record. A 3 win Ravens team had you beat. How do you think you would have matched up against their Super Bowl defense? you are the same pats that got blown away in '85 by a real team...DA BEARS. go to bed,18-1...MEANS NOTHING.

  1. 1) Tom Brady looked like he just did not want to be there today
    2) The offensive play calling was absolutely pathetic
    3) The offensive line played terribly tonight, especially on the right side.
    4) Old man Rodney Harrison choked on the final drive, allowing a 40 yard pass completion on a broken play.
5)Ellis Hobbs got faked out of his jock on the 13 yard touchdown to Buress.
6)Adalius Thomas played a whale of a game!
7)The Patriots need a a strong safety and a good shut down cornerback
8)Keven Faulk, as usual played a great game.
    9)Wes Welker is just unbelievable....again.
10)Mike Vrabel, where were you tonight? were you even in the state of Arizona?
11)Wolkfolk, you got pushed around this evening and did not control the line of scrimmage.
12)The Patriots desperately need two inside LineBackers
13)Maroney, good game, you are TOUGH!!!
14)Bill Belechik, what is the deal on 4 and 13 and not trying the field goal? C'mon Bill you are way more intelligen than that!
15)Looks like the Patriots need a new kicker, the current one is average at best; how do you kickoff out of bounds?
16)In summary the vaunted Patriots dynasty has probably come to an end, this is a devastating loss they might never recover from. A shame because 9 times out of 10 the Patriots beat these jokers called the Giants, who may be crowned world champions....but in reality, lets face it, they really aren't a very good team. It wasn't that the Giants wowed them, it was a case of who played worse; in this case..the Patriots

  1. I read your position analysis and the readers votes. My only thought was "what arrogant jerks". Aside from everything else. how in your wildest dreams could you think that the Patriots defensive line was equal to the Giants Also I guess that the Giants D line exposed Brady as great quarterback as long as he does not get hit. Oh well..have a very nice and very long off season.

  1. Hard to believe Belichek passed on the 49 yard FG to go for it on 4th and 13 when the Giants D was kicking butt all night long. I think there's a word for that: Hubris.

  1. If the Patriots played in the NFC East, they may have lost four or five games this year. Imagine taking the beating the Giants gave them week in and week out? You'd be crying to play the Jets and Buffalo and the Dolphins. Every game in the NFC East is a blood sport, not an AFC East cakewalk.

And Belechick. What a frigging sore loser. No class whatsoever. How about a real answer in the post game press conference.

Grab those 19-0 books while you can. And put them right next to your "Dewey Wins!" newspapers.

  1. Zeke, I didn't have a horse in this race, but how could you say the G-men were no good? They almost beat your beloved Pats week 16. They beat every good team in the NFC ON THE ROAD in the playoffs. They led the league in sacks, so your three pro bowl O-linemen not stopping them from slapping Brady around like a rap stars girlfriend is no shocker. The Pats Defense was the oldest in the league so it is no suprize they faded at the end of the year and couldn't stop the G-men in the fourth quarter. The coach had absolutly no faith in the kickng game, not taking a shot for a 49 yrd field goal to go for it on fourth and 13. Didn't the G-men go for and make a 47rd field goal in the SNOW and make it in Green bay to win the game? Face the facts, the Pats were not as good as advertised and beat up on a weak AFC east to pad their statistics. The BETTER team won on Sunday and most of the Patriots are man enough to admit it.

  1. Cheaters Never Prosper!

18-1 is still a good record though. You were definitely one on the top 237 teams of all time.

    Go Giants!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Ya,

I have to agree with Dan Espo. Zeke...you're an idiot! & we're all dumber for reading your garbage of a post. And so much for poor sport Beli-cheat being the next Bill Walsh (genius). There's no excuse not to go for the FG on the 4th-13 play. The way the Giants defense was playing the Pats needed every opportuntity to score points & Beli-cheat went into a brain freeze. Even if they don't make the FG it was only a 7 yard difference. No, this was called "Karma" coming back to bite the Pats in the ass for running up scores, spygate which by the way is not over yet & their cheap shot artist like Harrison & Seymour. And so much for the talk about Brady surpassing Montana as the "Greatest QB " in NFL history. That vanished quickly in about 2 minutes & change when Eli got the ball back. Even if Brady & Co. come back next year to win the SB there will be infamous "1" on Brday's resume' & that is 4-"1" in SB's. Montana was a perfect 4-0 just like the 49ers winning record in SB's 5-0.It was poetic justice!

  1. Zeke,

You obviously don't know what you're talking about when you say the Giants aren't that good. They were good enough to beat your team on Sunday & I don't want to hear about your lame excuses. The Giants front 7 put a pretty good whoopin' on the Pats O-line thru out the game.Talk about being in total denial & pretty much clueless. Your post leaves everybody who read it are alot dumber for it now. Beli-cheat & the Pats got what they deserved after all the running up the scores, spygate. And speaking of Beli-cheat, what a big baby & such a poor sport running off the field & leaving his team behind with a few seconds left on the clock. Really pathetic! As for the Brady-Montana comparison, we can put that to bed for good!
