Report: Faulk passes drug test
According to a report in The Daily Advertiser newspaper in Louisiana, Patriots running back Kevin Faulk, who was cited for marijuana possession last Friday, passed a drug test and will not have to enter the NFL's substance abuse program.
Faulk told the paper he talked to coach Bill Belichick and immediately submitted to a drug test, which was taken on Monday. He said the results of the test were negative.
Faulk has been charged with simple possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, after he was found with four hand-rolled cigars filled with the illegal substance while attending a Lil Wayne concert at the Cajundome in Lafayette, La., last Friday.
The passing of a drug test would not affect those charges.

I´m a Music Photographer, and I have to say that at Hip Hop shows almost everyone is smoking weed... That being said, Faulk probably had some friends or a girl that he likes that was going to smoke the 4 blunts in his pocket... Women are much more easy going when they´ve been smoking. (LOL) I doubt one could pass a drug test within 24 hours of taking drugs.
I always knew you were clean Kevin. You don't look like a stoner.
God Bless you Kevin Faulk! You are a great Patriot.
R u ppl kidding me? Obviously he was caught "before" smoking up; thus passing the test by not having any substance in his body. I love Faulk but let's get real, he's not an innocent lacky just "holding" onto those for his buddies or some girl.
Sounds like someone got Golden Seal at GNC. I hear it works wonders.
I think they were just Lucky Strike no-filter.
GOD BLESS? Takes all kinds
they have this stuff called "Quick Flush" it's 10 pills you take with tons of water a few hours before the test. They'r loaded with all kinds of vitamins and nutrients and even creatine. It masks the THC. You can smoke up the night before and you'll be all set using this stuff
they should decriminalize marijuana anyway. alcohol is legal and, statistically, much more trouble than pot would be...and virtually every basketball and football player (and half the professionals I know) are moments away from committing this
"criminal" activity all the time...hell, that that stuff and let's get over this already!
I don't care whether he smokes or not. I find it very unfortunate that something like marijuana is illegal while something like tobacco or alcohol is legal. Our law makers need to wise up, pot heads shouldn't be locked up.
Hey, who cares:
I have news for you. Weed is one of the few substances that stays in your system for a long time. Most drugs are out in a few days, while weed stays in your system for about a month. This means if you smoke within a month of your test you WILL get busted. Looks like he doesn't smoke, since most smokers I have known smoke more than once a month. Either that or he has a way to get by the screening.
pretty much a non-issue. No one really cares if a player smokes, and most people would rather see this than the disturbing DUI's and DUI accidents that we seem to see all the time.
Earth to the NFL, wake up and Protect ALL Players! Prescibe Medical Marijuana.
If Kevin Faulk or Willie Andrews lived in California, under state law, SB 420 (HS 11362.7) , local cities and counties are empowered to adopt medical marijuana possession and garden guidelines, so long as the per patient. amounts are greater than 8 ounces of dried female marijuana flowering tops plus 12 immature or 6 mature cannabis plants. Safe Access Now (SAN) promotes reasonable guidelines for medical marijuana patients to be presumed in compliance with voter-approved Prop 215 (HS 11362.5) , also known as the Compassionate Use Act of 1996.
Several localities have adopted guidelines based on those proposed on this site. The factual basis for SAN offers a rational basis criminal defense for reasonable dosages and "Sea of Green" gardens. Our proposal is based on the Sonoma County Garden Guidelines adopted by District Attorney Michael Mullins. These were the first amounts to be based on actual scientific research by the US government. The research has been compiled and summarized by court-qualified cannabis expert Chris Conrad . We have local point persons in various counties who work with community residents to get a SAN Resolution adopted by their City Council or County Board of Supervisors.
This proposal is designed to save tax money and make enforcement of California marijuana laws easier for police officers by providing a simple way to measure a garden or supply of medicine and quickly determine if there is presumed compliance within community standards. We encourage people to work with local sheriffs and district attorneys, as well.

When will the NFL or any other major sports conference finally give up on pot? Just stop testing and tell the government that no one cares about marijuana. The NBA did so for years (remember Bill Walton And Robert Parrish?) and did not change until political pressure forced them to do so. It is not a steroid or a stimulant.
It is funny to even discuss pot when I watch golfers on the pro tour smoke cigarrettes while PLAYING a professional sport.
I went to the two home playoff games and keyed in on Bruschi for a number of plays. Anyone who has been saying that he should have walked away after this year is crazy! This guy is still playing at an extrememly high level. He brings attitude and brains to this defense. Good to have ya back Teddy. You belong here!
I'm looking forward to seeing next year's defense!
kevin is a saint. he prob was holding them for someone. and if he does smoke weed so what. there are worse things he could be doing with his time. i dont blame any patriot for smoking weed after THE loss. I bet randy has held himself up in a room with a bong and 10lbs of pot.

the question that immediately comes to mind for me is, did they essentially catch Faulk before his first smoke of the offseason, because I think it's clear his intent to smoke those blunts was there. or did Faulk just make a mockery of the NFL's drug testing system right before our eyes. I am aware there are masking agents available, but I'm pretty sure most high quality tests are able to detect that you attempted to mask something. either way, I'm happy he tested clean and will not miss an games.
