OFFSEASON PROGRAM BEGINS MARCH 24: While some other NFL teams begin their offseason programs today, the Patriots' sessions will begin next Monday. That is likely because the Patriots played into early February, so their offseason is shorter than most.
CASON WORKS OUT FOR PATRIOTS OFFICIALS: The Patriots had team officials at the University of Arizona to work out cornerback Antoine Cason on Sunday, a workout first noted by the Boston Herald. Cason measured in at 6-feet, 191 pounds at the NFL Combine and nfldraftscout.com has him as the fourth-rated cornerback in the draft. The workout most accurately means the Patriots still are seeking more information on Cason in their draft preparation.
TRIP TO ISRAEL FOR SEYMOUR AND WATSON: This story from the Jerusalem Post earlier this month has details on DL Richard Seymour and TE Benjamin Watson taking a trip to Israel with Patriots owner Robert Kraft. Seymour and Watson attended the regular-season finale of the Israel Football League. "We might have some prospects here," Seymour said.
JARVIS GREEN SET FOR TV APPEARANCE: Patriots DL Jarvis Green is scheduled to appear on the Montel Williams show March 26. Green will be making a $25,000 donation to a single mother of four from New Orleans who is still recovering from the wake of Hurricane Katrina. The donation is being made through the Jarvis Green Foundation.

As if Jarvis Green doesn't do enough on the football field, he shows his true colors with his kind donation. Green, to me, is probably the most underrated and underappreciated member of the Patriots. This guy could start for any other team in the league. Every time he's out there, he's getting a sack or making a play. The Patriots are lucky to have such a strong defender on their squad, and I hope he doesn't leave town anytime soon.
Cason makes a lot of sense if the Patriots plan to trade down. I hope the Patriots do trade down to someone (perhaps to the Cowboys for their two first-round picks) and draft Cason, because he's a good corner who could compete with Webster, Scott and maybe even Meriweather for starting CB. Hopefully they can pull a trade off....
Mike, do you think that Mr. Kraft, Watson and Seymour are really in Israel to scout the IFL? If so, it would be interesting if they found someone to play for them.
And I'm glad to see Green out there helping others like this single mother from New Orleans. I'm sure he's not doing this for a pat on the back, but way to go, Jarvis, we're proud of you!
i hope j green's story get noticed by rest of the media before they go back to spygate watch. as far as dallas goes unless that arkansas rb drops to 7 and the cowboys still want him why trade for a top 10 rookie headache? i bet the pats would love to have that 31 pick back. heard jason taylor on wfan today and he have props to the pats for the suscess they've had with draft picks. so i have faith that the pats will keep making the right moves
Didn't Brady go to Israel with Mr. Kraft a few years ago??
