Kraft & Calipari
Columnist Bob Ryan writes on Memphis coach John Calipari in Sunday's editions of the Boston Globe, and toward the end of the piece, Calipiari notes a conversation he had with Patriots chairman and CEO Robert Kraft.
The talk came after Memphis had its chance for an undefeated season end with a loss to Tennessee. Kraft's words, as quoted in the article, make one wonder if the Patriots' pursuit of the perfect season ended up weighing too heavily on the team coming down the stretch.
"Bob Kraft called me, and we talked for 20 minutes," Calipari said in the article. "I said, 'We were chasing the same thing.'
"He said, 'You're better off. Go do it now.' "
