Pats workouts at USC

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff March 15, 2008 09:02 AM

The Patriots had two team officials on campus at Southern Cal yesterday. Defensive end Lawrence Jackson and linebacker Thomas Williams were two players given private workouts.

The workouts don't necessarily indicate genuine interest, and likely more accurately indicate that the Patriots need more information on both players at this time.

Jackson (6-4, 271) would project to outside linebacker in the Patriots' 3-4 scheme. Williams (6-1, 238) would be an inside linebacker in the Patriots' 3-4 alignment.

Williams detailed his workout as part of a journal on yardbarker.com, while noting that USC teammate Keith Rivers was planning for a private workout with the Jets.

  1. I heard an interview with Lawrence Jackson on Sirius NFL Radio.
Lawrence seemed to have one of the qualities the Pats like.
    He is smart.
