  1. Bruschi is a gamer and has led the team in tackles the last two years. To say he is being overpayed is ridiculous. Of the entire defensive unit, the linebackers, (who are the oldest unit collectively) had the best year of anyone on defense. Vrabel, Seau, Thomas and Bruschi are outstanding. They gave up 17 points in the super bowl and everyone is ready to bash them now. 54 will be hanging from the rafters when he decides to hang up the cleats.

  1. Good guy in the locker room and community. Terrible on the field. Horrendous signing! Seau is 5x better than this guy.

  1. Gee who says that they won't sign Seau too. I haven't seen anything about Seau calling it quits yet.

  1. Don't forget that Bruschi has always negotiated without an agent and worked below what his market value could have been on the open market. I can't think of another professional athlete in any sport who is less greedy. That said, even on the basis of a single year contract, it is still idiotic to suggest he is being overpaid.

  1. Does anyone else that Adalius Thomas' first yr with the Pats was brutal? The guy was invisible for stretches of games at a time. With all of the hype, I thought we were getting an amazing impact player that would change the dynamic of the defense. Am I alone?

  1. Looks like he got $2.2 million for next year, seems like a good deal. As we saw with McGinest you can get paid a little more at this stage by going somewhere else but not much.

I'm willing to let Belicheck decide who's playing well, he insists that they stay with their assignments, so Bruschi's supposed to stand in front of a gap, his job is to make sure the running back does not come through the gap, even if he gets knocked back a few yards he's doing exactly what he's supposed to do.

Same with Adalius. But it was strange that he only played a few plays against Indy though, he had to be either injured or in the doghouse.

The Giants pass rush made the Pats LBs look very weak in comparison, that last game is hard to forget. But I have to agree, the Pats LBs had an awesome year.

  1. signing bruschi is a great signing for the fact that any youth they do decide to bring in, he can take him under his wing and help them develop. plus like said before he is a gamer. his motor never stops. and DEAN PEES, just because you may not have heard thomas' name for "stretches of games at a time," does not mean he was not making an impact. because of his ability, he was commanding o-lines to double team him, freeing up other blitzers aka vrabel. plus having 78 solo tackles and 6.5 sacks is still making an impact, especially when you have seau, vrabel and bruschi in the same linebackers corps.
