BELICHICK IN ALABAMA: Patriots coach Bill Belichick is in Alabama as a featured guest of Nick Saban's coaching clinic. The Tuscaloosa News notes Belichick's presence. Defensive coordinator Dean Pees is also present at the clinic. Newly signed Patriot Fernando Bryant, an Alabama alum, is also on hand, according to the Press-Register.

AVRIL TALKS OF SCHEDULED VISIT TO NEW ENGLAND: The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review catches up with Purdue DE/OLB Cliff Avril after Avril's pre-draft visit to the Steelers. In the piece, Avril notes that he is scheduled to take a pre-draft visit to New England. At 6-foot-3, 253 pounds, Avril would likely project to outside linebacker in the Patriots' 3-4 scheme, and could also play with his hand on the ground in sub packages. It is possible he could project to inside linebacker as well.

  1. Thanks for putting this potpouri of info together Mike, Bruschi video was great. People should jump aboard and help Tedy's team if possible, it's a great cause that affects many.

  1. Nik, I checked the Pro Football Weekly draft preview and it actually notes that Avril could potentially project inside for the Patriots. So I just added it to the original post.
