Each Tuesday on Boston.com, questions from Patriots fans are answered as part of a weekly mailbag. This week's mailbag has been posted and includes the following topics:

  • Thoughts on why the Patriots will be working hard to trade down at pick No. 7.

  • Explaining why teams not picking No. 1 are restricted from negotiating with prospects on a contract.

  • Identifying some possible trade partners on draft day.

  • Exploring trade possibilities -- from Eagles CB Lito Sheppard to Bengals WR Chad Johnson.

  • A look at Richard Seymour -- both on the field (production) and off the field (salary cap figures).

    1. Have the Patriots worked out Vince Redd out of DIAA LU...was wondering if the Pats were one of the reportedly 20 that had him workout?

Apparently, Projects to be an outside linebacker in the 3-4, played for Danny Rocco, longtime Al Groh assistant...

Seems some Pats Coaching alumni over in Cleveland are high on him since or at least one of their major scouts found him...

      6'7 240, huge wingspan...

"Liberty linebacker Vince Redd, a long-armed Willie McGinest clone who, at 6-foot-6 and 265 pounds, projects as a 3-4 outside linebacker and edge rusher."

"Vince Redd, OLB, Liberty: Redd is an imposing defender who looks like a man amongst boys on the field. Twenty NFL teams have worked out Redd, a prospect who can play outside linebacker or defensive end."
