    1. could be worse...tough stretch in october with the 49ers, (travel), chargers (travel again), broncos, rams, and colts all in a row. But the open week right before that stretch will help.

    1. No 18-1 this year. Way too many West Coast road games. Just the travelling alone will kill them. Plus late start times on West Coast...it will be sunny but they'll be yawning...I see four losses minimum.

    1. Looks like the league is going to try its hardest to keep the Pats from running the regular season table two years in a row...bye week in september, at Indy for the second year in a row, and, not one, but two different sets of back to back west coast games...wow thanks No Fun League

    1. THIS IS BULLCRAP!

No other east or west coast team has to travel to the other coast on back to back weeks yet the Patriots have to do it twice?

      TOTAL BULLCRAP

    1. Ouch. Bye week in week four, two back-to-back trips to the west coast, and three of the last four games on the road. Plus the second Dolphins game on the road. Not exactly a favorable schedule.

    1. 16-0

    1. 14-2. Loses too San Diego and Indy.

    1. So much for those 1pm games that Kraft wanted! Anyways, What will the pats do when they have to play the Chargers and 49ers back to back? It seems to me they'd be better off renting a practice field for the inbetween week instead of flying back and forth to the East Coast.

    1. Easy schedule. NFL is doing them a favor w/ the back to back West Coast games twice. This gives them the option of staying out west and not traveling back and forth in consecutive weeks. Indy will obviously be the most hyped game of the year. The week before the Pats have a home game against the Rams at 1pm while the Colts are on the road against an always tough and physical Titan team on a Monday night, so the Colts will be playing the Pats on a short week.

    1. ESPN said this morning that the Patriots have the easiest schedule based on win-loss record in 2007. Unlike the MLB, the NFL actually rotates its schedule and has a plan years in advance. We knew we were playing west coast teams away this year. And someone else will this year (and next year) too. It would have been nice not to have two west coast games back-to-back, but at least we have the bye week the week beforehand.

Posted by Jeff April 15, 08 02:35 PM
    1. Hey Guys,

First of all playing Indianapolis at Indy was already "pre-determined" because they were scheduled to play the "AFC South" champion on the road in 2008, so since Indy won the AFC South, that's there opponent, so don't think the NFL was out to make them lose on that one.

Also, the 2 sets of back to back west coast road games could have easily been, and probably was, asked for by the Patriots. I would bet anything that Bill Belichick and the front office asked the NFL to do that and the Patriots will plan on staying on the West Coast in between those games instead of flying home.

As for the bye week, Indy also has the same bye week. I don't think it is that bad if the Pats asked to have the west coast games back to back, then it is actually pretty favorable. Their bye week is before their first west coast trip, so they can fly out earlier than needed and their second west coast trip starts with a Sunday night game plus they would have just come off a home 1 p.m. game, those are not as bad as long as they can stay out there.

    1. Are you guys kidding? They have one of the easiest schedules in the NFL this year. I don't care if they have to travel to Africa, they'll beat the 49ers if they only send 10 players.

Posted by joe cool April 15, 08 02:44 PM
    1. What are the complaints about? We have the easiest schedule of any team (strength of schedule wise). They had to put some degree of difficulty in the scheduling, otherwise we might finish 16-0 again. 4 losses minimum? HA! I say 3 losses MAX. Indy, Pitt, and MAYBE, just MAYBE SD (and I doubt SD).

    1. Wow, I thought the Pats and coach Bill had already been penalized for the spygate incident. Talk about retribution.....yikes!

Posted by PHIL April 15, 08 02:51 PM
    1. talk about hatred from the front office_

      5 prime-time games...including Broncos & Chargers back-to-back...
      4 mid-day games...
      49ers & Chargers back-to-back...
      Seahawks & Raiders back-to-back...
Stinkphins here in Sept. & there in Nov...
Week 4 bye, before it's needed...
3 of last 6 "flexible" which the late ones probably won't switch- but don't count on the (3) 1:00's staying there...
and last, but not least -

Colts in the artificially controlled climate & noise environment back-to-back...

WOW - the schedule looks pretty good as far as match-ups, but the execution of scheduling them SUX!

What a buncha bull-crap from Goodell and his cronies

    1. People! Calm down.

I wish my middle schoolers could play the 49ers, Raiders, and Cardinals. Not to mention playing Miami and Bills TWICE. Seattle sux. This is great. 15-1!!!

Posted by Dan Flynn April 15, 08 03:05 PM
    1. Face it - this is an easy schedule. They are in the softest division in the NFL, and play the softest division in the NFC this year. Somebody said "at least" four losses - I see at most four games that, on paper, could be challenging: Indy, San Diego, Pittsburgh, and Seattle.

The Broncos are not that good these days.

Aside from the trip to Indy, the Pats are on the East coast for seven games in a row during the meat of the schedule. I think the Pats can afford hotel rooms for the week between games for their two West Coast trips.

Posted by Rick April 15, 08 03:14 PM
    1. 16 - 0 in the regular season. Then we finish the job in the Super Bowl. Go for it again Pats. I want to hear the Pats are running up the score again. The only difference I want to see is the Pats reducing the minutes of the older starters and run the ball more. Let's make them all pay for Spygate, for losing the SB to Eli, yeah seriously Eli. Eli beat us.

I want to hear them whine BB.

Posted by Sean, Montreal April 15, 08 03:17 PM
    1. I have to agree - they have almost 11 guarantee wins. Of course we'll have to see how the D holds up. Hopefully they get some players or it could be ugly. But to me this looks really easy. Dunno how they pulled that off after going 16-0 last year. Weird.

Posted by CT April 15, 08 03:21 PM
    1. Wake up people....This is the easiest schedule based on '07 winning pctg. They play the three worst divisions, AFC West, AFC East, NFC West. They could run the table, but tops, three losses.

Posted by Ken April 15, 08 03:29 PM
    1. stength of schedule means nothing in present time since it is based on last year, old stats, outdated rosters etc. Pats got screwed cuz NFL AND NY hate us.

Posted by Alex April 15, 08 03:34 PM
    1. Only one Monday Night Football game all year for a team that finished 18-1?

Posted by Matt April 15, 08 03:39 PM
    1. Travel might be expected to wear on the team, especially toward the end of the season in Seattle and Oakland. Three games in under two weeks in early November will also be a bear. That said, the Pats get extremely favorable weather conditions for nearly all their road games......with the exception of Seattle (likely rain) and Buffalo (wind/snow armageddon), the Pats offense should be able to operate with its trademark speed and timing intact. I like the P-Men at 12-4, maybe 13-3, and tied for best record in the conference.

    1. I live in Florida and can't wait to see the Dolphins flounder in the snow at Foxborough in December. Too bad not this year.

Posted by Tom Florida April 15, 08 03:50 PM
    1. Quit complaining pat's fans. You all would complain if every game was against Buffalo. Go Packers!!

Posted by Brett April 15, 08 03:51 PM
    1. Man you guys whine ALOT> Its why people get annoyed with fans from Boston. They ahev the easiest schedule in the league every team has some bumps like west coast trips and things like that. Get over it you sound like a bunch of babies. 14-2 this year and a nice playoffs run...

      Posted by Joe D April 15, 08 03:54 PM
    1. This is a pretty easy schedule. They'll beat Indy but lose to San Diego.

      Posted by Billybob Z April 15, 08 04:06 PM
    1. It would be too much to ask for, but with this schedule, it is not inconceivable that they could run the table again. They are guaranteed a 3-0 start (chiefs, jets, dolphins). Obviously, they've got the tough match ups mentioned above that they'll have to get by. Big difference this year will be another year in age for those linebackers, and opponents' emphasis on stopping Moss. If they remain injury free, they have an outside shot of doing it again.

Posted by stacie April 15, 08 04:08 PM

    1. Not Horrible, but not the greatest either. Although the strength of schedule is on our side, the way we are scheduled isn't that great. I do agree that having back to back West coast games twice is goo because it is certain Bill will keep them there for those weeks, and having the first trip coming off the bye week will help. Also, by having the bye week early you get an extra week to heal anyone who might have a pre-season mishap and seeing as how the first three game sould be wins I can live with it. I see the Pats at 13-3: Indy gets their revenge for last year, always trouble in Miami so I always go 1-1 and if they win the better, and don't count out a loss at the Seahawks, loudest place to play in the NFL and they aren't that bad of a team. Go Pats!

    1. Not a fan of 4 away games on the west coast. Seems absurd to me. But yeah, I guess the best way to deal with these back to back to back to Back... is not to come back. Stay there and save the Sunday and wear and tear of travel, time changes, and general wear and tear of heading back east from west. Brutal.
Can' t think of any scheduling quite like this the Pats have had to deal with in recent memory. Certainly not during BB's tenure.
It would be good for Bonding the team as well. San Diego game will be brutal
I think it's foolish to say the Pats have the easiest schedule- that's not true just based on the away games and times of games.
But hey, no whining. All teams will be gunning for the Pats just like last year.
And the Pats will need to bring their A game every Sunday and Monday! Any team or division in the league can have a complete turn around. This is a NEW year.
Injuries can be a factor for any team at any time.
So... they have the lay of the land now, and they'll be ready.
I'm not predicting wins or losses.
Just gonna say - GO PATS!

    1. Two back-to-back west coast road games is not good, but as things look now, it's an easier schedule than last year...possible losses on the road to Chargers & Indy...and, does anyone else agree they'll be po'd about how it ended last year? 14-2, and all the way this time......

Posted by Steveareno April 15, 08 08:12 PM
    1. they're not playing the bucs again?! come on!

    1. Everyone who knows anything about the NFL knows that what a team did last year means almost nothing for what it is going to do this year. About all you can guarentee is that Indy will be good, and SF will suck (only joking SF fans).

Last year the AFC East was the worst, while the year before that the AFC East was one of the best in the league. Who knows what it will be this year, considering that Miami, at the very least, has Bill Parcells now.

Everyone claims that because the Pats had the AFC East to play last year, they had a really easy schedule, but if people look at the facts, they will see that the Pats played a lot of quality teams, including most of the playoff teams, in the regular season.

We can only wait to see what happens. Lets see how t hese teams turn out.

    1. Poor babies! Crying over some long flights after you got THE EASIEST SCHEDULE IN THE NFL AFTER GOING 18-1??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

There is a price to pay after decimating teams 52-7.... and apparently the NFL thinks that having 4 hour flights makes up for the fact that your team plays opponents with a combined .387 win percentage.

      Get over yourselves.

    1. i dont care 19 wins but i feel we might lose to the Radiers dont no why

Posted by Antwan July 12, 08 09:27 AM
    1. This is NOT the easiest schedule in the NFL. Pat are bringing home another title. I say at the MOST 2 loses (probably 0 but MABE 2 loses). It doesnt matter how much the NFL hates us we will still win the super bowl!!!!!!!! GO PATS 19-0

Posted by Tony July 23, 08 11:03 AM
    1. How can such a good team have the dumbest, most abrasive, ignorant and lying fans in the country. Of course it is an easy schedule. Anyone with a brain cell in there been can recognize that. With that said, the Pats looked absolutely hiddeous in preseason and dare I say the D has lost a half step. In the NFL, that is the difference between a stop for a loss and a touchdown. Mark it down and remember you heard it here first. The Pats will have a difficult season and will be in a fight come year end to win that crappy division. The top is nice, but it's a long fall down!!

Posted by Dave September 1, 08 01:46 PM
    1. Have you looked at anybody else's schedule this year? The patriots have it bad. I mean, it shouldn't matter what their record was last year. What should matter is the age and well being of these players who are having to put up with this awful schedule. Someone could get hurt and the NFL should have realized this before the schedule was made. Why send the likes of Seau and Bruschi on coast to coast airplane rides to risk time zone changes and injury (could be a contributing factor to another stroke) and then they play the 49ers and Chargers. Whoah, go easy on us NFL! We are truely hated. What needs to happen is for Belichick to throw a red flag appeal to get all the games at home. Make them come to Gillette and see how tough those 5-11 49er punks are. Yeah I said it! They are punks for teaming up with the Chargers to make this one of the hardest schedules to travel for. All home games would really level the playing field. But we also need teams we can really run up the score on. I don't like playing those pesky Steelers, we need to play...Boston College at home instead. That MIGHT make it a fair schedule. Dude the NFL must HATE us!
