Patriots hosting Lofton on visit
The Patriots are hosting Oklahoma linebacker Curtis Lofton on a pre-draft visit at Gillette Stadium this week.
The 6-foot, 246-pound Lofton would project to inside linebacker in the Patriots' 3-4 scheme. Among pure linebackers, he is listed as the second-rated prospect by the Pro Football Weekly draft preview and described as someone who "personifies what it means to be a football player." The scouting report also indicates that Lofton plays faster than his timed speed.
Lofton played on the strong side of Oklahoma's 4-3 defense in 2007 before shifting to the middle toward the end of the season.
The Patriots have annually found it challenging to find prospects who fit what they are looking for at inside linebacker in their 3-4 alignment. But this year's draft crop seemingly has some more possibilities, and Lofton appears to be one of them.

Big, bad GLENN DORSEY is visiting next week per NFL Network.
It would be a blessing if McFadden, Ellis, or Ryan fell to us and we traded out to pick up a few picks. If we can get Keith Rivers in the first and Lofton in the 2nd, our ILB would be oustanding for several years.
what's up with roosevelt colvin?
rumor is that Colvin ruptured his achilles which would put him out this entire season most likely. unless a team signs him and puts him on PUP and then activates him around week 10. since his injury happened late in the season, it might be possible that he could play towards the end of this upcoming season. but he'd hardly be in game shape and wouldn't really have his legs under him - he'd get handled at the line.
