ESPN details the story of how the Patriots' "winning" Super Bowl gear is benefiting others, as "championship" shirts and hats that would have celebrated a 19-0 season have been sent to those around the globe.

You can check out our photo gallery of the gear being put to good use. The video of the report, which is posted on ESPN.com, details how most of the Patriots' gear was sent to Nicaragua.

Because winning hats and shirts must be produced before the Super Bowl, each year there is an abundance of gear that goes to waste. The NFL has been sending the gear of the losing team around the globe since 1994.

  1. I wish they were wearing Giants Super Bowl shirts & we were wearing Patriot Super Bowl Champion shirts.

  1. soooooooooooo - if we go to Nicaragua for a vacation, will we be able to party like Champs?

Great effort by the NFL & a worthy cause - but how about sending them some additional "help" in the form of food, money, medicine, etc.?

Ah, never mind - we can't even take care of our own homeless & needy citizens, but it was a thought...

Here's another thought, why couldn't the clothing be distrubuted to the needy here in the USA?

I'm sure our homeless wouldn't care if it was inaccurate & it's not like most people would be confussed...the winner was sufficiently made public, (and if need be, couldn't a red circle with a line through it be added to the shirts before distributing them?)
Seems that would really put a desire in both teams to play that much harder - knowing they'd be Nationally recognized as the team that's NOT the Champions...Go PATS - 19 & 0 next year I hope & we won't need to be concerned with a situation like this.

P.S. where's that slime-ball Matt Walsh with all his physical evidence? Shouldn't he be on trial by now for defamation or something? Then he'd have to either admit he's lying & suffer consequences - or, produce whatever he supposedly has to defend himself - whether he obtained it legally or not.

I never heard of anyone requesting immunity from prosecution, so they'd be allowed to tell lies?

  1. I don't get why this is reported NOW from ESPN, many other outlets noted this fact days and weeks after the Superbowl. Is ESPN that desperate for a chance to poke at the Pats?

Note: Watch ESPN's take on the Pats on the clock. Apparently we can't even win the AFC East without Moss!

  1. I can't take it. The enormity of the loss just hit home to me seeing these Managuans in the the stuff we should be wearing. It's not funny and I am underwhelmed by the good cause aspect of it. This really hurts.

  1. One more thing. Here in Northern Virginia (Herdon exactly, site of day labor site skirmish), we are at Ground Zero of immigration crisis. It's probably only a matter of time before I start seeing 19-0 stuff around town!!

  1. It's only a matter of time before I see "temporary guest workers" wearing 19-0 and Patriots Super Bowl Champs gear while cutting rich peoples lawns and cleaning their homes in all the beautiful people towns near Boston. Those kids should put those T's on ebay and make some coin.
