Schedule coming Tuesday

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff April 14, 2008 01:18 PM

The NFL will release its complete 2008 regular-season schedule Tuesday at 2 p.m., league spokesman Greg Aiello said today.

The Patriots' opponents are already set:

Home: Bills, Dolphins, Jets, Steelers, Cardinals, Broncos, Chiefs, Rams

Away: Bills, Dolphins, Jets, Colts, Chargers, Seahawks, 49ers, Raiders

As my colleague Christopher L. Gasper previously reported, expect the Patriots to open at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 7, playing at 1 p.m.

  1. Mike:
How many other teams have four coast-to-coast trips to make this year?

  1. The Jets also play four west coast trips: Oakland, San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle.

The Raiders come to the East coast four times: Miami, Buffalo, Baltimore and Tampa as well as a trip to New Orleans.

The 49ers travel three times to the East Coast: Miami, Buffalo, New York and a trip to New Orleans.

San Diego also travels East: Buffalo, Miami, New Orleans and Tampa as well as Pittsburgh.

And finally Seattle, plays in New York, Tampa, Buffalo and Miami.

In the end, it evens out.

  1. It's probably harder for a west coast team traveling east to play than the other way.

  1. Denver, Kansas City, and St. Louis are all shorter trips but we did not get one of them, they are all coming here. We have to fly to the other end of the country for all these extreme west coast trips: San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, and Oakland. On top of that we have to go to Indy again. The scheduling Gods are taking their wrath out on the Pats.

  1. I see 3 tough games all season. That`s good enough for me. Not many teams can say that. We may win them all. A healthy Patriots team is a Super Bowl bound football team. No need to worry. look forward to the draft. Pioli and BB have got it covered.

  1. Bob the winning% of the teams the Pats play next year are one of the worst in NFL...I see 13-3 worst case 14-2 likely
