Setting up Day 2

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff April 26, 2008 10:39 PM

With the first day of the NFL Draft in the books -- and the Patriots coming away with Tennessee LB Jerod Mayo, Colorado CB Terrence Wheatley and an additional third-round pick -- here is a look at what is ahead on Sunday:

Round 3 begins at 10 a.m. The Patriots have the following picks:

  • Third round (69th overall, from Oakland)
  • Third round (78th overall, from New Orleans)
  • Third round (94th overall, original pick)
  • Fourth round (129th overall, original pick)
  • Sixth round (197th overall, original pick)
  • Seventh round (238th overall, original pick)

The Patriots' fifth-round pick, 164th overall, was traded to New Orleans.

The plan will be to pass along updates throughout the morning and day.

    1. Expect any trades with Miami for Jason Taylor? With so many 3rd Round picks, think Bill & Co. will trade a pick today plus a 2nd Round for next year for Taylor?

    1. It's more likely we trade our 1st 3rd rounder today for a 2nd rounder next year.

Miami doen't seem to be interested in trading JT or the trigger would have been pulled before round 1 & 2,.
