If the Patriots were hoping to trade down in this draft -- and the feeling here is that they are -- the first four picks might hurt the effort.
If QB Matt Ryan or RB Darren McFadden slid down the board toward the Patriots' neighborhood, the No. 7 selection would have likely generated some interest some other clubs. But the Falcons' selection of QB Matt Ryan at No. 3, and the Raiders' selected McFadden at No. 4.
Now it will be interesting to see if the Chiefs trade out of No. 5, perhaps to the Saints, with DT Glenn Dorsey on the board.
