Trader Bill & Scott

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff April 26, 2008 11:14 AM

One area to consider with today's draft is the likelihood of a Patriots trade.

Consider that since Bill Belichick and Scott Pioli were hired to run the team's football operation in 2000, the Patriots have made a total of 26 trades on the day before the draft or during the draft.

The feeling here is that the Patriots would like to trade down with their No. 7 pick today. It would be a surprise if the Patriots move up. The primary reason is a combination between the economics of the pick combined with the quality of player who will be available.

Here is a look at the teams with which the Patriots have traded with most from 2000-present during the draft:

Three trades
Lions
Raiders

Two trades
Broncos
49ers
Packers
Ravens

One trade
Bears
Bills
Chargers
Cowboys
Dolphins
Jaguars
Panthers
Redskins
Steelers
Texans
Titans
Vikings
