Mayo: Work makes the man

Colleague Christopher L. Gasper travels to Hampton, Va., and delivers a profile on Patriots first-round draft choice Jerod Mayo in Thursday's editions of the Boston Globe.

In speaking with family members about Mayo, one theme becomes evident: Mayo learned the virtues of hard work early in his life.
