NFL & Matt Walsh
The NFL has released some details of how Tuesday's meeting with former Patriots employee Matt Walsh will be handled from a media perspective.
Walsh is scheduled to meet with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell at the NFL's New York offices, beginning at 7:30 a.m. After the meeting, Goodell will address the media at the Intercontinental Hotel in New York. The time of Goodell's press conference is yet to be determined, as it will be dictated by the length of the Goodell/Walsh meeting. The earliest possible start time is 10 a.m.
Walsh and his attorney, Michael N. Levy, have been invited and are expected to attend the press conference.

Mike,
Will you be in NY to cover this?
This looks like the NFL will Reward a thief and liar with more publicity then is
deserved. Who will be issuing the one of many apologies to the NE Pats for the months of needless public scrutiny.
Mike,
Will you be in NY to throw stuff at Walsh?
What's the point of Matt Walsh appearing in front of the media in a press conference with Roger Goodell? What's the point of the press conference? The damage has been done, and the man who stole tapes in order to possibly blackmail has come forward and turned them over. They have been reviewed.
I have a better idea. Let's tell Roger Goodell to hold the press conference with Walsh on Oprah's couch and we'll broadcast it live for Oprah's show. That's about as ridiculous as what they are already planning to do. Gene Upshaw would never have done this, and that's bad to a degree, but Goodell is really dancing to the people's fiddle on this one.
coming soon to a tv near you -- Matt Walsh on "The Bachelor"! I hope the cameras get his good side.
What a total waste of time.
I hope Walsh is exposed as the fraud that he is for all the world to see at the post-interview press conference.
I really hope that someone asks Walsh-- why he didn't speak up and let people know that he did NOT have a tape of a walk through, instead of letting that misinformation stay out there for so long!! UGH UGH UGH... I am sooooo sick of this whole mess.
This indicates to me that the result is known ahead of time.
If Goodell did not know what Walsh planned to say, there would be no reason to pre-announce a joint press conference. This is actually a really good sign for the Pats, in that it suggests (combined with the fact that we know there is no St. Louis tape) that this will die on the vine. The other possibility would be that he would confirm a more serious allegation that has been imparted to Goodell, but that seems unlikely.
While it was fun seeing the Pats play with a vengeance after the allegations last year, I am looking forward to a new season without all this BS. And even if the Pats stole signlas, were all the other teams too dumb to change their signals once it was out. No, the pats and BB were just a better operation than most. Credit goes to the Giants for prevailing in the SB.
