Colvin to Texans
Former Patriots linebacker Rosevelt Colvin has agreed to contract terms with the Houston Texans, according to a league source.
Colvin was released by the Patriots earlier this offseason, primarily due to financial reasons. He had a salary cap charge of more than $7 million.
Colvin has recovered from a foot injury that ended his 2007 season in late November. He took free-agent visits to Indianapolis and Houston.

Rosie seemed like a great guy. Very intelligent player. I want to thank him for his contributions to the New England Patriots. It was a pleasure to watch him and I really wish that his injuries didn't hinder him as much as it it. He was one of my favorite Patriots. Good luck Rosie!
Good Luck Rosey. He will be a great addition to the Texans. Heres to wishing him alot of success in putting Peyton Manning into the ground.
at least he didn't go to the colts. he can sack payton a ton :D
whish peeple coud spell.
I believe the Texans will continue to improve this season. I'm rooting for them, hopefully Colvin has a good year, gotta love a healthy Andre Johnson.
Rosie made a lot of plays for the Patriots, including
huge strips and picks in the playoffs. Too bad money/injury
considerations didn't allow the Pats to keep him. All the
best in Texas, Rosie, you will be missed.
do we receive any compensation for him next year ?
Just glad he's not going to Indy. May he punish Manning twice a year.
Good luck Rosey - You are a great player and would have been a huge help down the stretch last year
It's too bad Colvin never realized his full potential with the Patriots. I think he should have come to an incentive laden agreement with the Patriots but it appears Houston was willing to pay him more. I hope he can remain healthy because he could sure be a dynamic presence on the outside for the Texans. Good luck Rosie.
I always thought Colvin was a great player to have in NE and missed him greatly during the 2007 season. You gotta wonder if Eli Manning would have been looking up at the Arizona sky, flat on his back, if Colvin had been playing.
That said, I can't say he can support $7 million. Isn't that close to what Brady makes?
No compensation because he was released.
