Fathers & Sons

Six rookies looking to make NFL rosters this year are following in their footsteps of their fathers, who also played in the NFL. Patriots fifth-round draft choice Matthew Slater is part of that group.

Not including those six rookies, there have been 158 father-son combinations in the history of the NFL (34 current).

  1. You forgot to list Jim Pyne with his father and grandfather, the first third generation player.

  1. What about Chuck Bullough son possibly playing for MSU? That would make 3 generations. I still remember Hank Bullough on the side line in 1966 with Duffy D. at the Game of the Century and showing new recruits though the Union.
