Following up on Hairston
In terms of players selected in the 2007 draft -- which does not include the picks traded to acquire veterans Wes Welker (second round) and Randy Moss (fourth round) -- the Patriots don't have much to show on their current roster.
Only first-rounder Brandon Meriweather and sixth-rounder Mike Richardson remain with the team.
The rest of the crop has been attempting to break through with other clubs, a group that includes: fourth-round DT Kareem Brown (Jets), fifth-round OT Clint Oldenburg (Jets), sixth-round OLB Justin Rogers (Cowboys), sixth-round OT Corey Hilliard (Colts), and seventh-round C Mike Elgin (Colts).
Yet that group was thinned by one this week when the Colts waived running back Justise Hairston (sixth round).
Hairston had injured his hamstring before taking the field for 2007 training camp. He opened the year on the physically unable to perform list and was waived before his return to health. The Colts signed him to their practice squad in October of 2007 and then re-signed him in 2008 to compete for a roster spot.

Finnally, the fact that this was being even contemplated makes me seriously question the people that vote for this man in Pennsylvania.
