Pats out of Sims mix

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff June 20, 2008 12:47 PM

Free-agent OL Barry Sims, who took a free-agent visit to New England on June 11, will not be signing with the Patriots, his agent confirmed today.

Sims is seeking an opportunity to compete for a starting job, and the other three clubs he's visited with -- the 49ers, Rams and Ravens -- offer him a more likely chance of earning a starting nod.

  1. I read somewhere that his agent said one of the factors would be playing for a team that has a chance to win a ring.I may be wring but I don't see it happening with those three teams in the next few years. With the Neal injury & Nick Kazur's situation,I would think if he is that good he would have a chance to win a starting position. Its probably more about $$$.
