Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff June 6, 2008 11:40 AM

FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots have begun practice on the first day of their three-day mandatory mini-camp. The session is being held inside the Dana-Farber Field House due to inclement weather.

Nick Kaczur is present for the practice. With Stephen Neal not at practice, Kaczur was lining up at right guard, flanked by center Dan Koppen and right tackle Ryan O'Callaghan.

Here are the players not spotted today at practice:

  • WR Kelley Washington
  • CB Ellis Hobbs
  • RG Stephen Neal
  • OT Oliver Ross
  • WR Wes Welker
  • TE Benjamin Watson
  • LB Bo Ruud
  • DL Jarvis Green
  • DL Mike Wright

    1. Hi Karthik -- I did see Ty Warren. As for Welker, he must not be 100 percent at this time. Moss and Brady were there. Ruud is probably in the same category as Welker. Any player not present means it is likely related to health. Jarvis Green, for example, is recovering for minor offseason shoulder surgery.

    1. Hmmm, any details on Welker, Mike? I didn't know he was injured.

Thanks for all your notes, Mike!
