Crable, O'Connell sign
The Patriots announced the signing of third-round draft choices Shawn Crable and Kevin O'Connell this morning.
Crable, a linebacker from Michigan, was the 78th overall selection in April's draft. O'Connell, a quarterback from San Diego State, was the 94th overall selection.
That leaves the Patriots with two unsigned picks -- first-rounder Jerod Mayo and second-rounder Terrence Wheatley.
Rookies are scheduled to report to Gillette Stadium today for training camp. Veterans are scheduled to report on Wednesday.
The first practice is set for Thursday.

GO Pats. Looks like another Great Season. Lots of Luck and Go for it ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am fervently hoping the Pats will get the chanceto wipethesmirk off of the NY Giants facesthis season andbringthe Vinceback to Foxborough, where it belongs Thiswould allow me tosleepatnightwithout visionsof Eli Manning escaping to throww "the" pass toTyree
Interesting. The Pats are just going ahead and signing their picks. The pot and wiggle room for signing Mayo or Wheatley is getting smaller. Not sure it wolrs to their advantage to wait to sign ... the rookie pool money will be gone ..
Excellent signings.
Mike, Hope you enjoyed your vacation. Will there be any updates on the rookie practices being held in Foxboro the next few days?
Hi Mike K. The media does not have access to practices until Thursday, which is the first official day of training camp.

Bob, O'hara has been shooting his mouth off this off season about the Giants not getting respect. He's not too bright. The reason for the "lack of respect" is Eli threw a dead duck while running backward that somehow was caught. 99% of the time it's picked off & he's anointed idiotdom for making that throw instead of taking the sack. O'hara was also the reason that Seymour couldn't hold on to Eli. He was not called for a blatant facemask by the officials that would have ended all hope for the Giants. I'm not suggesting the officials let the Giants have that one, that would be like steering a game in one teams favor, were too blind to see an obvious infraction, or had money on the game, but it definitely decided the outcome of the game.

I had read that the Patriots had signed RB Kevin Jones, a former first tround pick but have never heard his name mentioned since then. Is he still around?
Hi Warren. The Patriots had worked out Kevin Jones, but Jones ended up signing with the Bears.
